On behalf of myself and Whizz-Kidz, I would like to thank everyone who sponsored me for The 2011 Virgin London Marathon. Although a nasty accident on the 3rd March meant that I had to withdraw from the race, all my sponsors very kindly agreed to leave their donations in place.  This helped me to meet my fund raising target, and more vitally needed money in the pot for children in need of mobility help.

On the 3rd March 2011, Craig Revell was involved in an accident that has temporarily left him unable to walk. It is therefore with deepest regret that he has withdrawn from the 2011 London Virgin Marathon

Having taken a few weeks off, this Monday saw the start of my training regime for the 2011 London marathon.   I have applied for a place with Whizz-Kidz, this will be my 4th London marathon for them.

On the morning of Sunday 25 April, London’s streets felt the pounding of 36,000 runners – around 600 of whom were fundraising for Whizz-Kidz – during the annual London Marathon.

The Whizz-Kidz team including Minnie Mouse, a duck, Fred Flintstone, Willy Wonka, Gonzo, a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and women in tutus was once again sponsored by Santander.

Thank you so much to all those that sponsored me for The Virgin 2010 London Marathon, I had a superb race and a fantastic day in London.

Official time 4 hours 44 minutes 39 seconds, but more importantly a great run without any injury issues from start to finish.

Congratulations to all the great people that ran the race on Sunday, and a huge thank you to the thousands of people that turned out to support the race, the atmosphere all the way around the course was fantastic.

Congratulations to all those who took part in the very first Virgin London Marathon.

I can safely say that running today was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done but great fun!

Now that the hard work and training is over, I’m planning to take it easy for a while but maybe you’re already considering next year!

It was great to see so many people lining the streets – the support was truly mind blowing. I’m not sure I would have made the last few miles without it.

Thrapston resident and local business man Craig Revell is facing another marathon challenge as he gears up to run the London Marathon this year for the third time.

Craig, 42, is usually seen attending to his hectic business affairs, but on April 25th he will be donning his shorts and running the 26.2 mile London race to raise much needed cash for Whizz-kidz.

Craig has been selected to run in the 2010 Virgin London Marathon in support of the Whizz Kidz charity.

Marathons4kidz is an charity organisation created in May 2006 to raise funds and awareness for children’s charities such as Whizz Kidz.
